Logos
help define the personality of a company or organization.
Whether they are pictorial, typographic, or a
mix of both, a unique logo speaks volumes about
who you are, what you do--even how you do it!
Here
is a small collection of some of the logos I've
done for recent clients. It may take a while to
load, but it's better to look at logos as a group
rather than one at a time. It will give you a
better idea of the range of possible styles, formats
and "feels".
The
process: For some reason,
most of my logos start as black ball point pen
sketches on the back of old laser proofs. Okay,
so that's probably not industry standard, but
it seems to work for me! Then, sketches are scanned
and redrawn in Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia
Freehand. If the logo is to have a sharp "high-tech"
feel or is a logotype, that's where it stays.
Many logos move on to a session (or two or three)
in Photoshop, where they are manipulated, stretched,
and sometimes marinated overnight. This is particularly
the case for logos that will appear on the web,
mainly because one can do much more with design
elements that aren't limited by the lithographic
printing process.
